Community Christmas

Community Christmas

This Christmas, you can help make a real difference in your local community

We need your help to spread the festive community spirit far and wide to those in need this Christmas.

Whether you donate an item or two to our food donation boxes this season, or pick up a gift tag from the Rotary Tree of Joy, you can be part of the magic.

Rotary Tree of Joy

The Rotary Club’s popular Tree of Joy will return to St Martin Grand Marché on Saturday 21 November to help spread some Christmas cheer in the community. By taking a tag from the tree, then wrapping and returning the requested gifts, Christmas will be a bit more special for people in need.

The tree will be up until Sunday 08 December, giving plenty of time for the presents to be delivered to local children, in time for Christmas morning. Now let’s spread some Christmas cheer.

Food donation Scheme

As we shop for our Christmas essentials and treats, if you are able to, why not pick up an extra item or two and help make someone else's Christmas a little brighter too.

We know that these are challenging times for many of us, especially those needing that extra little bit of help and support from our local charities this season.

Whether you are able to give a little, or a lot, your donation of food will be helping islanders right here in our community this Christmas time.

Your donations will be supporting the Guernsey Welfare Service to continue its vital work in our community.

On their behalf, we would like to thank our to members and customers, for all your help and support.

How to take part

  1. Look out for our special food donation signage in our Grand Marché stores.
  2. Purchase any of the suggested items when you are shopping with us.
  3. Drop them into our usual food donation boxes, located on the way out of the store.
  4. We’ll make sure the items reach the charity throughout December.
  5. Why not encourage your family and friends to join in too?

Don’t forget you can donate pet food at St Martin Grand Marché which goes to GSPCA.
